One of the ingredients of the Good Life, is to view people as just people. To put on a “pair of glasses” (not sunglasses, although these are very helpful at this time of year), that sees all people on the same level. Despite colour, culture, religion, social standing, education, etc. To just be able to see the human being behind the dress code, language or standpoint.
The festive season is often the hardest season of all to cope with. People often have to deal with deep heartache, death, divorce, trauma, financial burdens and health issues. Every human being has a story and a burden. Every human being has to get up in the morning and face the day.
The pair of glasses that is required for the Good Life, is called grace. Grace is undeserved, unmerited favour. It means being nice to people in overcrowded shops, busy with Christmas shopping. It is to remember that the reckless driver with you on the road in December has a story and a burden too! It is to try once more to be decent to that difficult family member that you will have to face over Christmas. It is to curb the irritability with the heat and sunburn and glare. It is to understand that the annoying car guard also has a story and a burden to carry.
Depression often rears its ugly head and anxiety roars in December!
The Word of God says that if we have grace we will find mercy. I would very much like to find mercy. I would very much like it if someone can overlook my mistakes. If someone will have grace when I totally do not deserve it.
In this Good Life of Natural Health, Earth and Budget friendliness: If there is only one gift for each person in the Christmas Stocking – let it be GRACE. My story is not more important than your story and my burden is not heavier than your burden.
